As a teacher for over 30 years, Jacqui began her career teaching in a Grammar School. She felt it was obvious that small group tutoring was the perfect way to teach and because of this she worked evenings and weekends teaching private students at her kitchen table.
As scores of students gained Grammar school places, word spread and waiting lists grew.
While Jacqui moved up in her teaching career she spent less time in school with students and more time on administration and management. Frustrated that her clear skills in teaching led to promotion away from students, she continued to tutor.
In 1999 Jacqui left the very prestigious independent school, New Hall, in Chelmsford, to dedicate herself full time to tutoring.
When she moved from Chelmsford to Colchester where 63 students travelled the 30 miles each week to continue their studies.
Since then the kitchen table tuition took over her four storey home and in 2016 the tuition moved out of her house.
At the beginning of 2019 the new Ipswich Road Centre, a former police station, was launched and became the new home for Jacqui Robinson Education.
Kindness, empathy and a genuine love of teaching means that resources are constantly updated and Jacqui and her team offer the most up to date accessible curriculum possible.
The team now includes four full-time staff, two of whom studied with Jacqui as children and now have excellent university degrees. Molly and Anna are two of the many adults who still hold the values and beliefs on which Jacqui founded the company.
With a mixture of full-time and part-time staff, over half of the team were taught by Jacqui as youngsters and this is clear in the care, attention to detail and respect shown to both students and their parents.
